Why Choose Us?

Sprinkler Repairs, Installs, and Maintenance in Sandy, UT

  • Sandy has highly variable soils due to its position between the Salt Lake Valley floor and the Wasatch foothills. Lower, flatter areas commonly have silty clay soils formed from ancient lakebeds. These soils are very deep, poorly drained, and prone to puddling if watered too quickly. Higher bench and hillside areas tend to have sandier, rockier soils that drain very fast and hold little moisture. Many properties benefit from soil amendments (compost, organic matter) to improve both drainage in clay soils and water retention in sandy soils.

  • We are licensed with Utah's Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) to perform landscape irrigation services in Sandy. We are also fully insured in case anything ever goes wrong.

  • We guarantee arrival within 48 hours (during business days) or you get $25 off the cost of your visit. During the hot summer months, Utah's cool-season grass gets hit hard by the heat. We understand that when the sprinklers break or when now plants are put into your landscape, you need service as soon as possible. That's why we have a large staff, 24/7 call answering, and this guarantee. Don't let your grass die - give us a call today.

  • Looking for a second opinion? Don't wait days for someone to show up: we have an online estimate calculator and we also offer online video call and phone estimates for new system installations on properties listed on Google Maps. For sprinkler repairs, just give us a call or go to our pricing page for clearly outlined prices for every type of sprinkler repair.

  • When you sign up for a Storm Shield plan to professionally maintain your system, we warranty every component for 5 years. Most companies have warranties that expire after a few months, if they have them at all! We use only the highest quality parts installed by highly trained, background-checked crews, so you are in good hands.

  • Your safety and peace of mind is important to us. We don't hire anyone who doesn't pass a background check and drug test. Beyond that, we train our staff specifically on providing top-tier service, and we take complaints very seriously. We know that trust is earned, so we do everything we can to ensure you can rest easy while we take care of the dirty sprinkler work.

I had an excellent experience with Storm Sprinklers. Austin was incredibly attentive and quickly identified the problem. His pricing was very reasonable, and the job was completed swiftly and efficiently. Although he had to dig quite deep to reach the stop and waste, he left everything in excellent condition. I highly recommend Storm Sprinklers. We have had issues with too...

Austin is super friendly and knowledgeable. He responded promptly when we needed help getting our sprinkler system started in the spring. His prices seem reasonable and the annual plan seemed like a good deal, too. We're looking forward to working with Storm Sprinklers.

I had Benjamin working on my sprinklers this week and he did an amazing job! He fixed everything I needed done and gave lots of great advice. Hard worker and finished everything very fast! Will definitely work with them again.

Michelle W.

They were very professional and spent several hours fixing our problem, some of which was a result of previous work done by a different company. Would recommend Storm Sprinklers and use them again!

Joe H.

Austin was great. He was knowledgeable and solved a very difficult set of problems quickly and at a fair price. In fact, one solution was to dig up an old box and replace all of the old valves which would’ve cost quite a bit. When he came out to do it, however, he offered to try to repair the offending...

Ben is one of the nicest people I have had working for me. He was thorough, explained everything and did great work. He is a great representative for your company.

City Information

What Homeowners Need to Know About Irrigation Systems in Sandy

  • Sandy City provides culinary (treated drinking) water for homes and businesses, sourced from local creeks, Deer Creek Reservoir, and groundwater wells. This water may be used for irrigation where no secondary system exists. Rates are tiered by usage. A typical ¾-inch residential meter has a base charge of about $28.15/month, with the first 6,000 gallons costing roughly $1.79 per 1,000 gallons, increasing to over $5.50 per 1,000 gallons at higher usage levels. Sandy does not operate a citywide secondary irrigation system for private yards, though some subdivisions may receive pressurized irrigation from separate irrigation districts. City parks do use non-potable irrigation water, but those rates are not billed to residents.

  • Without a municipal secondary system, irrigation timing in Sandy follows climate conditions. The average first fall freeze occurs around late September, and the last spring freeze around mid-May. Sandy City typically begins winterizing park irrigation systems in mid-October. Homeowners should plan to shut down sprinklers once nighttime temperatures regularly reach freezing in fall and resume watering after mid-May, depending on weather.

  • Sandy City enforces a mandatory time-of-day watering restriction: no outdoor irrigation between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., every day. This rule applies to both residential and commercial properties. Sandy does not currently enforce an odd/even address schedule. Additional restrictions may be imposed during extreme drought conditions, but under normal circumstances the primary regulation is the 10–6 watering ban.

  • Sandy does not run its own standalone irrigation rebate program. Instead, residents are directed to statewide and regional programs such as Utah Water Savers / Slow the Flow, which offer rebates for smart irrigation controllers, turf replacement, and water-efficient landscaping. Sandy has participated in pilot programs in the past (such as Localscapes or park-strip conversions), but current incentives are primarily administered through state and water-district programs.

  • Sandy City requires approved backflow prevention assemblies on all irrigation connections to protect the drinking water supply. Engineering standards require a separate irrigation meter and a code-approved backflow device (commonly a reduced-pressure [RP] assembly or approved vacuum breaker) installed per Utah plumbing code. These devices must meet ASSE standards and are subject to testing and inspection as required by state law.

We want to serve Sandy with the highest quality landscape irrigation systems possible. Frequently Asked Questions

  • Usually we can make it to your property within 1-3 business days. For more urgent sprinkler repair requests, we offer emergency repairs at a small fee. At peak periods during the season, such as April, July, and October, wait times may be longer. However, we do our best to fulfill the promise of our slogan: lightning-fast with a sunny smile! This requires a balance between having enough staff to reach you as quickly as possible, but maintaining the high standards of our team.

  • Most new sprinkler installations cost between $5,000-$10,000. The average cost of a sprinkler repair project is around $400-$500, but depends entirely on the scope of what you want to do. Some jobs are as low as $100 and some are up to $2,000+. If you want detailed pricing information and an instant estimate, visit our pricing page!

  • We offer easy financing options when projects are over $1,000. With 0% interest options, adding a new system or reworking your existing system has never been easier and more affordable.

  • We don't charge diagnostic fees, but we often charge service/trip fees for repairs, ranging from $0-100 depending on location and seasonal demand. This allows us to control our schedule so that we can keep spots available for local homeowners and families who truly want or need our services. It also allows us to pay technicians fairly and continue to serve you even if all you need is a sprinkler head repair or a sprinkler controller reprogramming. This way, we have no hidden fees or sunk cost gotcha's-- just honest, clear pricing that works for everyone.

  • The best time to turn on your sprinklers is usually between April 15 - May 15, once there is no more risk of freezing temperatures. The best time to turn them off is between September 15 - October 15, before freezing temperatures return. Many homeowners make the mistake of turning sprinklers on too early and running them too late, thinking this is necessary to keep their grass alive. Utah's cold-season grass is more resilient than most people think, so be cautious when choosing to run your sprinklers.
