Sprinkler Repairs, Installs, and Maintenance in Alpine, UT

The local soils in Alpine tend to be well-drained, rocky loams. These deep, well-drained soils absorb water quickly, which is good for avoiding puddling but means irrigation water can drain away rapidly. That means watering should be deep and less frequent (think 40-120 minutes per zone, a couple times a week). The pressurized irrigation system in Alpine, installed in the early 2000s, uses untreated canal water that can clog systems unless properly filtered. Also, due to the elevation gain throughout the city, expect pressure to vary between properties: if you're at the top of a hill, you may need a booster pump for adequate pressure.
We are licensed with Utah's Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) to perform landscape irrigation services in Alpine. We are also fully insured in case anything ever goes wrong.

I reached out to a couple sprinkler companies to help us with our sprinklers. Storm Sprinklers was by far the best interaction from the get go. I was so impressed with the communication. Jackson was able to come a little earlier than our scheduled time and was great! He was such a great help. We will definitely be contacting Storm...

Austin was amazing he came out to fix a valve on my system and he was efficient as well as very communicative. He also mapped out the entire system and gave me detailed list since we didn’t originally have the system installed. Will definitely be using them again.
City Information
What Homeowners Need to Know About Irrigation Systems in Alpine
Around 98% of landscapes in Alpine use the city's pressurized irrigation water, and each property has a secondary water meter for the irrigation system. The city charges a base monthly fee of $42.44 for the irrigation water, plus additional fees per gallon of water used. However, the city is pretty generous with the pressurized irrigation water, and most homeowners don't pay more than $50-60 per month for their watering bill between April-October.
Alpine experiences cold winters, and sprinklers must be winterized each fall to prevent freeze damage. Any water left in exposed pipes can freeze and crack over the winter. The city shuts off its secondary water system by mid-October (around October 15) to get ahead of freezes, and it advises residents to close valves and blow out their systems before hard frosts. Each spring (mid-April, usually April 15) when water is turned on, Alpine homeowners who don't winterize their systems risk expensive repairs in the spring. Want to schedule your winterization? Give us a call!
To conserve water and ensure adequate pressure, Alpine enforces outdoor watering schedules during the irrigation season. As of recent city policy, even-numbered addresses may water only on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while odd-numbered addresses water Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. No watering is allowed on Sundays, giving the system a day to recover (and allowing the city’s storage tanks to refill). Additionally, Alpine restricts watering to overnight and early morning hours – between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on your allotted days. Watering in the heat of day is both wasteful (due to evaporation) and in Alpine’s case, against the rules.
Utah has rebates for smart timers, drip irrigation conversions, and a few other landscaping changes, but none specific to Alpine. As of January 1 2026, there are no known rebates specifically for Alpine's irrigation systems that aren't applicable throughout the entire state.
A backflow preventer is only necessary when trying to prevent cross-connection between a sprinkler system and the city's culinary water supply. Since almost all lawn sprinkler systems in Alpine run exclusively on pressurized irrigation water, you probably don't need a backflow preventer.

This allows us to control our schedule so that we can keep spots available for local homeowners and families who truly want or need our services. This way, we have no hidden fees or sunk cost gotcha's-- just honest, clear pricing that works for everyone.
The best time to turn on your sprinklers is usually between April 15 - May 15, once there is no more risk of freezing temperatures. The best time to turn them off is between September 15 - October 15, before freezing temperatures return. Many homeowners make the mistake of turning sprinklers on too early and running them too late, thinking this is necessary to keep their grass alive. Utah's cold-season grass is more resilient than most people think, so be cautious when choosing to run your sprinklers.
